Escribir Poemas:

Today you will write your own poem following a similar pattern to "Instantes". 

You will write this poem to somebody (person, pet, stuffed animal etc). It can be serious, fantastical or funny. You choose. Following these instructions, you will see a serious one I started to write. The pattern has to be " if I could....., (I, you, we, they etc) would (conditional)...

You must write a minimum of 15 lines. Please type, double space. You will read to the class on Monday. Have fun with it.   Just doing this myself brought back wonderful memories of my grandmother.

                                                      Mi abuela

Si pudiera, me encantaría sentarme al lado de ti, ayudándo con el pan que preparabas cada domingo.

Si pudiera, pasaría por el rosal enfrente de tu casa que olía como el verano y me recuerda de ti.

Si pudiera, te escucharía más cuando hablabas de los políticos porque hoy en día me importan mucho.

Si tuviera la oportunidad, pasaría una noche más en tu casa, durmiendo en la cama vieja mientras escuchaba tus cuentos.

Si tuviera la oportunidad, te preguntaría más de mi papá y tus otros niños para que me compartiera tus secretos de ser una madre buena. 

Si pudiera, te diría una vez más que te amaba pero me alegro que ya lo supieras.
